Auto fill PDF forms — free, and your PDF stays on your device
Stop retyping the same details. For fillable PDFs, the form filler lists every field page by page and suggests answers you’ve entered before for fields with the same label. Save a set of answers as a template and apply it to your next fillable loan, insurance or onboarding form. Saved answers stay in this browser. Your PDF is never uploaded. For flat or scanned PDFs, the tool asks before AI names the fields; if you say yes, the page’s printed text and field labels — never your answers — are sent to an AI provider.
Fillable PDFs are filled directly in their own form fields, so the result behaves exactly like a form completed in Acrobat. Forms without fields still work: the tool finds the blanks and writes your text onto the page. Word and OpenDocument forms are supported too.
How to fill a PDF form online
A typical form takes a couple of minutes:
Upload the form — drop a PDF, .docx or .odt file onto the tool, or tap to choose one (up to 25 MB).
Check the detected fields — a fillable PDF shows how many fields it has and on how many pages. Machine names such as “f1_01[0]” are replaced with the label printed next to the field where it can be read.
Fill the fields — work down the list, or use “Next empty field”. The page preview highlights the field you are on, and the counter shows how many fields and required fields are left.
Review — choose “Review filled PDF” to see every page exactly as it will be saved. Go back to change any answer.
Download — save the completed PDF. Tick “Flatten when done” first if the answers should no longer be editable.
What the form filler does
Real form fields. Text boxes, multi-line boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns and list boxes are filled in place, and the form’s own character limits and required flags are respected.
Page-by-page progress. Fields are grouped by page with a “filled of total” counter, a required-fields badge and a button that jumps to the next field still empty.
See where each field is. On larger screens the form page sits beside the list with the active field highlighted; click any box on the page to jump to that field. On phones it opens on demand.
Undo, clear and reset. Undo and redo (Ctrl/⌘+Z), clear a single field, or reset the form to its original values — the reset itself can be undone.
Nothing lost on reload. Answers are kept in the browser tab while you work; re-open the same file after a reload and restore them.
Autofill from your saved answers. On fillable PDFs, values you have entered before are offered as one-tap suggestions on matching fields, and a saved template can fill a whole set of them at once. Everything is stored only in this browser.
Forms people fill here
Applications. Job, admission, bank, rental or visa applications that arrive as fillable PDFs.
Government and tax forms. Official forms with defined fields — fill, review each page and download a copy to submit.
Agreements and consent forms. Complete the blanks, then add your signature and today’s date in the form’s signature and date fields.
Onboarding paperwork. HR packets that ask for the same details repeatedly — save them as a template once.
Supported forms and files
Fillable PDFs (AcroForms). Filled in their own fields. The download keeps the fields editable unless you flatten it.
Flat or scanned PDFs. Blanks, boxes, table cells and checkboxes are detected from the page layout; you can adjust them and the text is drawn onto the page. Latin text, ₹ and Hindi (Devanagari) are printed; emoji are left out.
Word (.docx). Underscore blanks, underlined blanks and empty “Label | ____” table cells become fields; the rest of the document is left untouched.
OpenDocument (.odt). Underscore blanks and “[ ]” checkboxes.
Output. The same format you opened: PDF, .docx or .odt, named yourfile-filled.
Troubleshooting and limitations
“This is an XFA form”. Some government PDFs use Adobe’s XFA format, which browsers can’t fill. Use the form issuer’s own software for those.
“Couldn’t read that PDF”. The file may be damaged or password-protected. If you know the password, remove the password from the PDF and try again. The unlocked copy is saved as page images, so a fillable form comes back without its fields, and the tool looks for the blanks on the page as it does for a scan.
Signature fields. “Add signature” puts a visible signature (drawn, typed or uploaded) in the field’s box, and date fields (other than birth and expiry dates) have a “Today” button. Certificate-based (digital) signatures can’t be applied here. No signature field on the form? Download it and sign the PDF.
Old Word files (.doc). Save as .docx in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs first.
A value doesn’t show in another app. Some fonts embedded in forms can’t display every character; the tool asks the PDF reader to redraw the field, which most readers do.
Open the PDF on this page. If it has fillable fields, they are listed page by page — type your answers, tick boxes and pick options, then choose “Review filled PDF”, check every page and download. If the PDF has no fields, the tool finds the blanks and lets you place text on the page instead.
Can I fill a PDF without Adobe Acrobat?+
Yes. It works in your web browser — there is nothing to install, and filling a form needs no account. The downloaded file opens in Acrobat, Preview, Chrome or any other PDF reader.
Is the PDF form filler free?+
Yes. Filling and downloading forms is free, with no sign-up and no watermark on the finished file. On flat or scanned PDFs, the AI that names the fields uses the free AI requests shared by all the AI tools: 3 a day without an account, and 15 a day once you sign in, resetting at midnight India time (IST). After that, each AI request needs 1 credit; signed in, you can buy credit packs on the Credits page. Each page it names is one AI request. Without it, the form still fills; its fields just keep their basic names.
Are my forms uploaded?+
Fillable PDFs and Word/ODT forms are opened, filled and saved in your browser; the file is not uploaded. For flat or scanned PDFs with no form fields, the page’s printed text and the detected field labels (never your answers or the file itself) are sent to an AI provider to name the fields, if you say yes when the tool asks. While you work, answers are kept in this browser tab. When you download, or save a template, they are also stored in this browser’s form history to power autofill suggestions — you can delete history entries from the History panel.
Why doesn’t the Review button download straight away?+
Required fields (marked *) must be filled first. Pressing Review lists the empty required fields and takes you to the first one, so a form is never submitted incomplete.
What if I reload the page by accident?+
Your answers are kept in this browser tab. Open the same PDF again and you are offered to restore them. Closing the tab clears that draft; when you download a fillable PDF, its answers are also saved in this browser as suggestions for next time, until you clear the site’s data.
Will the fields still be editable after I download?+
Yes, unless you tick “Flatten when done”. Flattening prints the answers onto the page so they can no longer be changed — useful for a final copy.
My PDF has no fillable fields — can I still complete it?+
Yes. For flat or scanned PDFs the tool detects lines, boxes, table cells and checkboxes, and you can add, move and resize fields before downloading a PDF with the text drawn on the page.
Can I sign the form?+
Yes, in its signature fields: “Add signature” lets you draw, type or upload a signature, or pick one saved on this device, and it is drawn into the field’s box when you download. On a flat PDF, add a Signature field where the form asks for one. Date fields (other than birth and expiry dates) have a “Today” button. This is a visible signature — certificate-based (digital) signatures are not supported. If the form has no signature field, download it and add your signature with Sign PDF.
Does it work on a phone?+
Yes. Fields stack into a single column, and “Show where fields are on the page” opens the page preview when you need it.
